Event Feature: British Superbikes at Brands Hatch

Here’s another selection of images from a motorsports event that I recently attended. British Superbikes is always one of my favourite events to see at Brands Hatch, not simply because of the racing but also because of the openness and accessibility of the riders. They’re always more than happy to smile and wave for the camera whenever they see one pointed in their direction.

They came to Brands Hatch for the July round, and, as you will have seen on my Instagram page recently, I grabbed a few shots of some of the riders while enjoying the race. Even though I started off taking photographs in order to capture the race weekends I was attending when I was a teenager, these days I appreciate the chance to sit back and watch the races rather than concentrating on getting the shot. One of the most important lessons we can all learn, in this age of camera phones, is to remember to watch real life without seeing it through a lens every now and then!

I do love to get into the pits in between races, however, where you can get some great shots of the riders themselves. I’ve assembled below a small collection of portraits from the race day. These are all smaller square previews, as several of them are up for sale! If you are interested in purchasing prints (or phone cases, or stationary, or etc), I have a few of them available on my RedBubble page. If you are interested in something that has not been put up there, just let me know and I will create the listing for you.
